I began sculpting some eighteen years ago after a career in education, working both in England and in several African countries.

Inspired by the work of Bruno Lucchesi my earlier work consisted mainly of figurative modelling in clay. The pathos of war led me to produce ‘ Soldiers of Ypres’ which was cast in bronze and earned praise from The Imperial War Museum and was featured in a St. Dunstan’s publication.

Love of music and sculpture has stimulated me to make portrait heads of Beethoven, Rodin and Sinatra.

After a short course at Portland I began carving in stone, a process I find both challenging and exciting.

An active member of the Surrey Sculpture Society, I have exhibited in many venues including Guildford, Petersfield and the VivArtis Exhibition, Witley.

Other venues in which I have exhibited include Worthing, Portsmouth
and the Forge Gallery Walberton.

A Pieta which I modelled in clay is on display in St Peter’s Church, East Wittering
